Georgia's knowledge exam has two independently scored sections of 20 questions. You must score at least 15 of 20 in EACH.
Pick an answer on each question to see whether you got it right, with an explanation.
This is a short sample — DriveDrill has 200+ Georgia questions
and full-length mock exams in the app.
Q1. Driving without the insurance your state requires can result in:
A A points penalty only
B No consequence if you were not at fault
C A warning only
D Fines, suspension of your license and registration, and vehicle impoundment
Financial responsibility is a condition of driving. The penalties apply whether or not you have a crash.
Q2. A pedestrian using a white cane or a guide dog is crossing ahead. You must:
A Drive slowly around them
B Wave them across
C Stop and give them the right of way
D Sound your horn to alert them
Stop well back and stay quiet. A horn or engine noise from an unexpected place can disorient someone who is navigating by sound.
Q3. Georgia requires headlights to be on:
A From half an hour after sunset to half an hour before sunrise, and whenever wipers are in use
B Only in rain
C Only after dark
D Only on interstates
Lights must also be on when visibility is poor enough that you cannot clearly see a person or vehicle 500 feet ahead.
Q4. In Georgia, the law requires a car seat or booster seat until:
A The child turns 8, or is taller than 4 feet 9 inches
B The child turns 12
C The child turns 4
D The child turns 16
State law is a minimum. Safety experts recommend a booster until the adult belt fits properly: lap belt low across the hips and shoulder belt across the chest, not the neck.
Q5. You are on a road that ends at a T intersection with no signs. You should:
A Yield to traffic on the through road
B Proceed because the through road must yield
C Turn right without yielding
D Stop only if a car is visible
At a T intersection the road that ends yields to the road that continues.
Q6. Backing up on a Georgia controlled-access roadway, such as an interstate, is:
A Allowed to reach a missed exit
B Allowed if your hazard lights are on
C Allowed on the shoulder
D Prohibited
If you miss an exit, continue to the next one. Traffic on a controlled-access road never expects a vehicle moving backward.
Q7. When you park facing uphill next to a curb, you should turn your front wheels:
A Toward the curb
B Away from the curb and let the car roll back against it
C Straight ahead
D Away from the curb and leave it in neutral
Uphill with a curb: wheels away from the curb, then let the car settle back so the tire rests against it. Downhill: wheels toward the curb.
Q8. A front tire blows out at highway speed. You should:
A Steer sharply onto the shoulder
B Hold the wheel firmly, ease off the accelerator and let the car slow
C Brake hard immediately
D Accelerate to regain control
Braking or sudden steering after a blowout can spin the car. Grip the wheel, come off the gas, then ease onto the shoulder once you are slow.
Q9. Georgia's Slowpoke Law requires a driver in the left lane to:
A Speed up to match traffic
B Move over when a faster vehicle approaches from behind
C Use hazard lights
D Maintain the speed limit and stay put
The law applies on roads with two or more lanes in your direction. It does not authorise the faster driver to speed.
Q10. Combining alcohol with another drug usually:
A Multiplies the impairment beyond either one alone
B Cancels the effects out
C Has no effect on driving
D Only matters above the legal limit
Interactions are unpredictable and often far stronger than the sum of the parts.
