and full-length mock exams in the app.
Q1. The accelerator sticks open. You should:
A Pump the accelerator until it frees
B Switch off the engine at speed
C Use the parking brake at full speed
D Shift to neutral, brake, and steer to the side of the road
Neutral disconnects the engine from the wheels so you keep power steering and brakes. Once stopped, shut the engine off.
Q2. In a work zone you should:
A Follow closely so the queue is shorter
B Maintain the normal highway speed
C Increase your following distance and expect sudden stops
D Change lanes often to keep moving
Rear-end collisions are the most common work-zone crash. More space is what prevents them.
Q3. A bicycle on a public road is:
A Required to ride facing traffic
B A vehicle whose rider has most of the same rights and duties as a driver
C A pedestrian
D Required to use the sidewalk
Riders must obey signals and signs, and drivers must yield to them the same way they would to another vehicle.
Q4. Before taking the Florida driving skills test, a learner must hold the permit for:
A Three months and 20 hours
B One month and 10 hours
C At least 12 months or until age 18, and log 50 hours of practice including 10 at night
D Six months with no logged hours
The 50 hours of supervised driving, 10 of them after dark, are certified by a parent or guardian.
Q5. In Florida you may not park:
A Within 50 feet of an intersection
B Within 15 feet of a fire hydrant or on a sidewalk or crosswalk
C Facing traffic in a driveway
D On any residential street
Florida also prohibits parking within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection and within 30 feet of a flashing signal or stop sign.
Q6. You must report a Florida crash to law enforcement immediately if:
A Only if you were at fault
B Only on an interstate
C There is injury, death, a hit and run, an impaired driver, or apparent damage of at least $2,000
D Only if someone is taken to hospital
Florida raised the property-damage threshold from $500 to $2,000 on October 1, 2026 (SB 488). If an officer does not investigate, the driver must file a self-report with the department within 10 days.
Q7. The safest way to deal with a distracting situation inside the car is to:
A Ask a passenger to steer
B Handle it quickly while driving
C Slow to 20 mph and continue
D Pull over somewhere safe and deal with it
Nothing inside the car is worth your attention at speed. Find a safe place to stop.
Q8. Driving on the shoulder to get around slow traffic is:
A Legal if you use your hazard lights
B Illegal except where signs or an officer direct it
C Legal if traffic is stopped
D Legal on any highway
The shoulder is for emergencies and for stopped vehicles. Using it as a lane is both illegal and a common cause of crashes with people standing outside their cars.
Q9. Children must ride in a child restraint or booster:
A Until they meet their state's age, height or weight requirement
B Only in the front seat
C Until they are 5 years old everywhere
D Only on highways
Requirements differ by state, and the back seat is safest for younger children. A belt that crosses the neck or belly means the child still needs a booster.
Q10. The minimum age for a Florida learner license is:
A 15
B 17
C 14
D 16
A learner license at 15 requires the traffic law and substance abuse course plus the knowledge exam and parental consent.
